setting for a thriller

The reason I believe this a good example of thriller film setting is because it is a narrow out of the alley where no one goes and there is no where to go once your in side and there for there is no where to run if there crime being committed. if i was to use this as my setting it would be the place at which the crime takes place and would be set at night in the pitch black all apart from one street lamp at the end of the alley and the weather would be rain to set the mood.
what is a thriller film ?
Films in the thriller genre are often refereed to as a horror films when in fact they a completely different types of film although they can sometimes have some of the same aspects to them.
So wheat exactly makes a thriller film. A thriller films purpose is to keep the viewer on the edge of their seats engulfed in suspense and mystery, making it the viewers job to solve the mystery. One of the main ways directors can instantly alert the viewers that their is going to be mystery or something to solve is with the us of characters, this is one of they features to a thriller because the type of charters you will find are ones such as doctors, lawyers, police, detectives, criminals, psychopaths and many more.
The reason for this is to create a intelligent adult world were the viewer believes what is happening in front of them keeping their attention on screen and no where else.
The main feature of thriller film for me is the twist, i think this is the main feature of thriller film because just when you think you have solved the mystery your told new information or see something that complete contradicts the ideas you had at points all brand new ones in your head keeping fixated on screen begging to no the answer to the mystery.
The setting for a thriller film is often an intelligent world such as city and the place in which the crime takes place is often somewhere like an ally where no one is around and the lighting is would most likely be dark normally and at night under a street light.
most thriller films are actually sub-genres of a thriller such as a crime thriller, Sifi-thriller, action-thriller, horror-thriller and so on. this is because the story of a thriller often follows the rules of another film genre but it is the way the film is portrayed the makes it a thriller such as the characters, twits and the way the audience is made to think and feel about the the film.
In conclusion a thriller film is a film filled with mystery, suspense anxiety and twists, BUT A THRILLER IS NOT A HORROR FILM.
